ZTE Nubia Z5 picture leaks, 1080p display on the front

HTC might have beaten everyone at the game by releasing the first devices with a 1080p Full HD display (the Verizon Droid DNA and HTC J Butterfly), but the race for 1080p display-toting devices is now raging on in full steam, as almost every manufacturer has been rumored to be working on one. Now another 1080p Android smartphone to make an appearance is the Nubia N5 by ZTE, part of their new Nubia lineup.

No doubt a direct competitor to the Oppo Find 5, the Nubia N5 sports a 5-inch 1080p display (5-inch seems to be the standard size for now for 1080p screens), and underneath it carries a quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor with Adreno 320 graphics, just like every other 1080p device we’ve heard of, including the rumored Sony Xperia Yuga or the LG Optimus G2.

Other known specs of the Nubia Z5 are a 13 megapixel camera at the back, 2GB of RAM, all housed in a body just 7.6mm thick. There are also dual speakers on the back, which is something you won’t see on two many phones these days, though hopefully the quality of sound coming out of those speakers will be good enough.

That’s all the info there is to the Nubia Z5, so we’ll have to wait a bit for more details, such as what version of Android the device is running. With a ZTE smartphone being the first to run on Android 4.2, we can hope the Nubia Z5 will also be running the latest version of Android. Then there’s also the question of whether the Nubia will see a release in markets outside China, though with ZTE expanding business quite rapidly stateside and otherwise, we can hope that it will.
