Xposed for Oreo: All you need to know

Xposed framework is one of the most popular custom MOD among rooted Android users. It lets you customize your Android device to great lengths and also enable a lot of productivity features that Google and device manufacturers may never bring to your Android device. And all that also accounts to great effort towards developing Xposed framework for each new version of Android OS.

For a framework like Xposed, it takes great amount of time and effort to make it compatible with newer iterations of Android. For the Android 7.0 Nougat, it almost took over a year for rovo89, the developer behind Xposed framework, to make Xposed compatible with it. And still, to this date, Xposed for Nougat isn’t stable yet.

So Xposed for Oreo, Android 8.0, is a whole new story. And we’re not even sure if the framework would make it to the latest release of Android. But Rovo89 is yet to make a comment on availability of Xposed framework for Android 8.0 Oreo update, so let’s just hope for the best.

‘Android Oreo Gapps: Download all packages here’

The difficulty in developing Xposed for Android 8.0 Oreo is because of the new APIs and developments in the Android kernel. With each new version of Android, Google has been trying its best to improve security on Android devices, which results in restricted environment for custom MODs like Xposed framework here.

Still, we’re hopeful that Xposed framework makes it to Android Oreo. We’ll be sure to update this post with more info on its availability once we hear back from the lead developer rovo89 himself. Stay tuned..
