January 28, 2019: Xiaomi is rolling out a new MIUI 10 beta update version 9.1.24 to the Indian variant of the Redmi 4, otherwise known as Redmi 4X. The update has been available from last week as an OTA, but we now have the download link in the table below, which you can download and use this guide to install on your device right now.

Xiaomi Redmi 4 MIUI 10 update
- Stable version released on 28 Nov 2018
The stable MIUI 10 update is now available for Xiaomi Redmi 4 (Redmi 4X) across the globe as MIUI 10.1.1.
Xiaomi Redmi 4 Android Oreo/Pie update
- Not eligible for official Android Oreo/Pie updates
- Oreo and Pie-based Custom ROMs to the rescue
As far as official Android Oreo and Android Pie are concerned, there won’t be such updates for the Redmi 4/4X coming from Xiaomi. On the brighter side, you may never be short of custom ROMs based on both OS versions or at least the older Oreo, so make sure you grab a few tips on how to flash one on your Redmi 4 handset ahead of time.
