Xiaomi Redmi 4 launched in India in three variants

Xiaomi has launched another great affordable smartphone in India. As expected, the Redmi 4 has been unveiled at an event in New Delhi today in three variants. The phone is up for pre-order at Mi.com where it will go on sale on May 20th. At the same time, Xiaomi has partnered with Amazon which will also sell the Redmi 4 on May 23rd.

Now Xiaomi Redmi 4 is just another variant of Redmi 4X which was launched in China in February. With a change in name and a different SoC, Xiaomi has launched the handset in India now.

The three variants of Xiaomi Redmi 4 are — one with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, the other with 3GB RAM and 32GB native memory and the third with 4GB RAM and 64GB in-built storage. The prices also vary according to the storage capacity. The 2GB Redmi 4 is priced at Rs. 6,999 while the 3GB variant cost Rs. 8,999 and finally the highest model with 4GB RAM will set you back by Rs. 10,999. The color options available are Matte Black and Elegant Gold.

Xiaomi Redmi 4 sports an all-metal body with 5-inch HD display and 2.5D curved glass on top. Powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 SoC clocked at 1.4GHz, the phone runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with MIUI 8 skin on top. On the imaging front, there will be a 13MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, LED flash and a 5MP front camera. All these will be kept on by an impressive 4100mAh battery. There’s also a rear fingerprint scanner.

Amazon is giving away 45GB data free for Vodafone users for 5 months on purchase of a Redmi 4. Other offers include original Redmi 4 cases at a discount of Rs 349.
