Xiaomi Prepping MIUI 7 Based on Android 5.1 Lollipop with AOKP

The Chinese tech maker Xiaomi has partnered with ROM maker AOKP (Android Open Kang Project) for the MIUI 7 interface that is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. This was confirmed by the official blog of AOKP that revealed that the two firms are working on the MIUI 7 that will debut with the Mi 5.

The blog claimed that those at AOKP are working along with Xiaomi on a refreshed and new MIUI 7 interface that will be based on Android 5.1. The interface is codenamed MiKangy for internal purposes and it is likely to take a new claim on the Android UI.

The blog post included that the new UI will be packed with popular aspects from Cyanogen, Omni, ParanoidAndroid and AOKP to offer a submerging experience to the users. The ROM maker claims that the Mi 5’s UI will evolve with the user and that it will have personalized aspects after a few months.

AOKP claims that the partnership with Xiaomi will not leave any impact on the future of the firm, thereby discarding the rumors regarding acquisition.

The ball rolled down the hill so much that Xiaomi contacted us, and explicitly asked us to add this little clarification. 😀
