Xiaomi Mi Max 2 specs leaked via GFXBench

In the making for quite some time now, Xiaomi’s upcoming phablet Mi Max 2 has been spotted on benchmarking website GFXBench revealing quite a bit of its specsheet. The device shows up as Xiaomi Oxygen on GFXBench.

As per the GFXBench listing, this successor to Xiaomi Mi Max sports a 6.4 inch display with 1920X1080 resolution. The device is powered by an unnamed octa-core processor, which we believe should be Snapdragon 660 (based on past leaks) clocked at 2.2 GHz paired with Adreno 506 GPU for graphics. At its heart, the phablet carries 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.

Throwing further light on Mi Max 2, the GFXBench listing reveals 12MP rear camera with auto-focus and flash and a 5MP selfie snapper. Impressively, it runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat with MIUI on top of it.

Notably, this Mi Max 2 specsheet digresses a bit from what we have seen in a past leak which suggests a 6GB RAM. Also given that its predecessor Mi Max was shipped with 16 MP main rear camera and 5 MP selfie snapper, it is highly unlikely for Xiaomi to downgrade the rear camera to 12MP. It was also rumored that Xiaomi plans to release this phablet in May which means we should be hearing more about Mi Max 2 in the coming days.

  1. I was so surprised to see that Mi Max was the most popular phone in china last year, may that’s why Xiaomi is really pushing so hard on the design and specs of the new Max2 to live up to their FAN’s expectations!!

  2. Reducing the megapixels from 16mp to 12mp doesnt mean a degraded camera. The pixel size and aperture is way more important than megapixels.
