On top of launching the Mi 8 Pro today, Xiaomi also unveiled the Mi 8 Lite, also called the Mi 8 Youth Edition. This is basically a budget Mi 8 version with watered down specs destined for millennials.
The Mi 8 Lite features a 6.26-inch LCD display with a notch on top, so you won’t be getting the often-viewed as superior OLED option here. Instead of the Snapdragon 845, there’s a Snapdragon 660 keeping things moving on board. The advanced 12MP+12MP pairing has also been replaced by a more modest 12MP+5MP one.
However, since this is a phone destined for the younger crowd, Xiaomi is offering an even more powerful 24MP selfie snapper on board of the Mi 8 Lite. The Mi 8 Pro only has a 20MP one, in comparison.

- 4GB of RAM/64GB of storage – 1,399 yuan/$204/Rs 14,739
- 6GB of RAM/64GB of storage – 1,699 yuan/$248/Rs 17,900
- 6GB of RAM/128GB of storage – 1,999 yuan/$292/ Rs 21,060
The phone will go on sale in China starting on September 25 in Aurora Blue, Sunset Gold and Midnight Black.
