Xiaomi Mi 5X launched with MIUI 9, dual camera, 4GB RAM and SD 625 chip

Xiaomi has taken the wraps off its mid-range smartphone, the Mi 5X. As expected, the device has been released today at an event in Beijing, China.

Xiaomi has endowed the Mi 5X with a full metal unibody design with rounded edges. The device sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display. The power for performance comes from quad-core Snapdragon 625 chipset. This is paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.

The Xiaomi Mi 5X steals the limelight with its 12MP+12MP telephoto dual cam which comes with optical zoom. Another USP of the smartphone is that it is one of the first Mi devices which comes pre-installed with Xiaomi’s latest MIUI 9. The MIUI 9 is Android 7.1.2 Nougat based.

There’s a 3080mAh battery to aid the Xiaomi Mi 5X in performing day-to-day activities. There’s a rear mounted fingerprint scanner.

Xioami has attached a price tag of RMB 1499 to the mid-range Mi 5X smartphone and it will be available in three colors – Black, Pink and Gold.
