Xiaomi may make us wait until year end for the Mi5, Mi4s to be released soon

We have all been waiting for that next big release from Xiaomi and while we do not have an official statement — yet — we do have the next best thing, which is a leak. Details about the Chinese manufacturer’s upcoming flagship smartphone have just surfaced courtesy Weibo leakster Leaksfly, and it seems like the device up next is the Mi5.

According to Leaksfly, the Mi5 will be unveiled early November this year and will feature Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 820 chipset.

What’s more, the device may also feature Qualcomm’s ultrasonic fingerprint identification system which if true, will allow users to access their device without needing an extra button or sensor anywhere on the device.

Apart from the Snapdragon 820, the Mi5 will also sport a 5.5-inch Quad-HD resolution display. The device is backed by 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and is likely to be graced by a 16 or 20 MP main camera. Other perks include the 5.1mm of thickness, which frankly speaking is quite impressive.

Leaksfly also let us on into the fact the Xiaomi was planning to release the device earlier, however the company decided to wait for a couple of months and replace the 810 with the newer, faster Snapdragon 820 in order to put forward its best foot in face of increasing competition from domestic as well as foreign manufacturers.

For now though, the company will content itself with releasing the Mi4s, which is basically an upgraded version of the Mi4 — coming with a Snapdragon 810 SoC and a 13MP camera with optical image stabilization as compared to the 801 that the original Mi4 that was released last year featured.

Stay tuned!
