Google Feed is coming to your Google homepage as Discover

Google has announced that it will be rebranding its popular Google Feed to Discover. In addition to the new name, the new Discover also brings about a redesigned UI, much better control over topics displayed, as well as support for multiple languages. But of course, the biggest change the update brings, though, is the addition of Discover to your Android device’s Google homepage.

RelatedGoogle Home Hub is the company’s first smart display, coming on October 9

You’ll see new topics headers explaining why a particular card is appearing in Discover and if interested in a certain topic, there’s room to dig deeper, but you can always adjust between “more” and “less” coverage of the topic in future. Next to each topic is a Discover icon and when you tap on “Follow” you’ll start seeing more about the topics in your experience.

As far as multi-language support is concerned, it’ll be possible to configure Discover to display certain content in one language over another. For instance, you can have tech news displayed in one language and sports stuff in another language, but for now, only two languages are supported – English and Spanish.

There’s the Evergreen content, which is stuff that might be older but not outdated or basically still useful to your experience. And then there’s the addition of Discover to your Google homepage, something that shows the company’s faith in this product given that everyone that lands on the homepage will see the new changes.
