If you’re on the Google Play Store, there’s nothing worse than finding out that the app you were searching for is going to cost you money. While there are apps that are supported by ads and then there are some with in-app purchases, a fair share of them are just way too expensive for you to try out. Those who desperate to try them without shelling out some cash end up downloading modded or cracked ones which can never be fully safe.
For those of you who still want to get paid apps for little to no money, there are some ways to do so legally. Follow the steps below so that you can get the paid app that you wanted without worries.
How to get paid Apps and Games on the Google Play Store for free?
Method 1: Using Google Opinion Rewards
The most simple way of getting paid apps on the Google Play Store for free is through Google Opinion Rewards. Operated by Google itself, Opinion Rewards sends you simple surveys which when answered get you Google Play Credits. Instead of relying on an unreliable survey site which forces you to watch videos or try a product, Google asks simple questions which benefit both you and Google.
Some of the questions will be regarding a place that you visited recently, how much time you spend there, how you paid for the products there, etc. It’s not necessary to answer all the surveys sent to you and you can turn off the location history for the app in case you don’t want to receive a question regarding your recent visits.
Once you answer those questions, Google rewards you with Google Play Credits. You can use these credits to purchase any paid apps, games, books, or movies that can be found on Play Store. To use your play credits, click on ‘spend play credits’ on the home screen of the Google Opinion Rewards app.

Method 2: AppsFree Android app
AppsFree is the first app you’ll run in to if you’re searching for free paid apps on the Play Store. As expected, AppsFree shows a list of paid apps that are currently available for free and you can legitimately download them without spending a penny. The catch here is that you might not find the exact paid app that you wanted to download but instead you’re choosing from a curated list.
However, AppsFree lets you modify the list by adding filters on the basis of categories, ratings, and minimum downloads while you can also block certain apps from the list to never see them. The app has earned 4.5 out 5 star in terms of ratings on the Play Store and has 500,000+ installs till now.
Method 3: AppSales Android app
Of the apps listed in this sections, AppSales has the most reviews and most of them are positive. The app works similar to that of AppsFree. You can find the list of paid apps that are temporarily free and also view apps that can be purchased for a fraction of their original price.
There are four tabs to choose from – highlights, latest sales, now free, and watchlist. The ‘highlight’ section shows popular apps that are currently on sale while ‘latest sales’ section shows a list of apps that recency went on sale sorted by time. The ‘Now free’ tab lists all the apps that can now be downloaded for free. Unlike, AppsFree, the last tab on AppSales dubbed as watchlist, lets you track the apps that you want and notify you when they might be on sale or go free.
Besides that tabs, you can customize the results through different filters like minimum discount, minimum downloads, minimum rating, and country. You can also create filters with keywords of your choice and hide apps with ads or in-app purchases or expired ones.
Method 4: Paid Apps Gone Free Android app
Currently in Beta, Paid Apps Gone Free is similar to AppsFree and AppSales, showing a daily list of paid Android apps that are free for a limited duration. The list includes apps and games for phones and tablets as well as for android TV and android wear devices.
There will be a new list of free paid apps for the day and once you click a day’s listing, you will be greeted with an assortment of apps with their respective download count, genre, and ratings. You can choose to hide icon packs from the list and be notified of sales once a day.

Method 5: App Hoarder Android app
Similar to all the other apps discussed here, App Hoarder notifies you when paid apps go free or when they’re on sale. Clicking any item on the list directly takes you to the Play Store and the list is updated every hour.
The app listing can be filtered according to your preferred category, the number of downloads, ratings, and its original price. Moreover, users can also filter out apps with no updates in the last three months (or lower), exclude apps from certain developers, selected packages or keywords.
You can also hide a listed app so the list will not show the app again in the future. You will get notifications of all the free apps available for today and among that, the list apps filtered for you for the day.

Method 6: r/AppHookup on Reddit
Reddit is a great place to discover deals on the Play Store. It’s not a myth and yes, there is indeed a subreddit for everything you can think of. One of the most popular subreddits for getting paid apps for free or on discount is r/AppHookup. While the list includes apps for both iOS and Android, there are dozens of daily posts on limited time free goodies or items that can be bought for way lesser than the original price of the app.
All you need to do is open the Reddit app on your phone (or PC) and keep scrolling through the threads for all the deals that have opened up recently. Once you find the app that you need, click on the thread and browse through the link given in the description and you’ll be taken directly to the Play Store.
Method 7: r/GooglePlayDeals on Reddit
GooglePlayDeals on Reddit is another popular subreddit where new free or discounted paid apps are listed every day. You can find up to 15 app deals on a given day in the community.
Scroll through the threads to see which of the apps listed would be of interest to you. Once you click on a thread, you’ll find a link at the top, clicking which you’ll be redirected to the Play Store.
Method 8: r/AndroidGameDeals on Reddit
Like the other two subreddits mentioned above, AndroidGameDeals on Reddit lists deals on apps but exclusively for games on Android. The subreddit not only lists games available on the Play Store but also deals available on the Amazon App Store, Humble Bundle, and more.
You can follow the subreddit and check periodically for a game that is free or can be purchased for a steal.
Keep an eye out for notifications on the Google Play Store. Most of the time, Google itself notifies you when a popular app or game goes on sale. You can view these offers by going to Google Play Store > Menu > Notifications. These notifications will also show offers across in-app items as well.
