How to Install Viper4Android on Moto G 2015 (3rd Gen.)

Moto G 3rd Gen. is a good choice in its range of devices for the music goers. The device comes with dual front speakers with pretty decent sound quality, but if your hunger is more, you can install Viper4Android on your Moto G 2015 to further enhance the music experience.

Viper4Android is the most popular custom sound MOD for Android devices that enhances your music experience by enabling advanced surround sound, lossless sound with enhanced high frequencies, USB/Dock audio output, heavy bass with high sound clarity and many more features. Viper4Android is quite literally the mother of all sound MODs.

To install Viper4Android on your Moto G 2015, you need to root your device first. And since rooting involves unlocking the bootloader, you’ll void the warranty of your device.

Also, installing Viper4Android on Lollipop is tricky. Lollipop sets SELinux to enforcing mode for better security, but to get Viper4Android to work you’ll have to set SELinux back to permissive mode. Also, for installing Viper4Android on Moto G 2015 you’ll be flashing a bunch of .zip files from TWRP, not just one.

Viper4Android installation can be different between each manufacturer and firmware versions, for the Moto G 2015 following the instructions for Moto G 2014 works perfectly so we’ll do just that.

First of all, download .zip files from the links below to your Moto G 2015:

  1. Download and install SELinux Mode Changer app on your Moto G 2015 and set SELinux to permissive mode.
  2. Boot into TWRP recovery.
  3. Flash all the files you downloaded above via TWRP recovery except the Convolver_Files.zip file, it won’t flash via recovery.
  4. Once you’ve flashed all the files, wipe cache & dalvik cache and reboot your device to system.

That’s all. Viper4Android (V4A) should be installed on your device now, look for the app in the app drawer.

For +Sound effects, unzip the Convolver_Files.zip file and paste its contents to /storage/sdcard0/ViPER4Android/Kernel/ directory on your Moto G 2015.

Happy Androiding!
