Verizon rolls out March security patch for Blackberry PRIV

Blackberry PRIV users on Verizon Wireless network have reported receiving a new firmware update. Arriving as build AAJ926, the new update installs the latest monthly security patch on the Blackberry device.

The new software update, other than installing the March security patch, also enhances device performance and resolves known issues. It is being rolled out as an OTA update which means it might take some time before you can see it on your Verizon Blackberry device.

Although the update is a regular monthly one, it is highly recommended as it gives you the most up to date Android security patch on your device. However, before hitting the download the button, connect your device to a WiFi network and ensure your phone’s battery is fully charged.

If you are the owner of a Blackberry PRIV, you can check for the update manually by going to Settings > About device > System updates. Or else, you can patiently wait for the new firmware notification to arrive on your device.
