Verizon rolls out Blueborne security patch for Galaxy Note Edge, while Moto Z2 gets September patch

Verizon has started seeding a new update to two devices. While one device comes from the Moto family, the other one belongs to Samsung.

We are talking about Moto Z2 and Samsung Galaxy Note Edge. Verizon is pushing September patch to Moto Z2 and Blueborne patch to Galaxy Note Edge.

While usually the Blueborne security patch is packed with September patch, Verizon doesn’t mention Blueborne in the changelog. So, we are not sure whether Moto Z2 gets Blueborne patch or not. On the other hand, Galaxy Note Edge changelog specifically mentions Blueborne patch.

For Galaxy Note Edge, the update arrives as version MMB29M.N915VVRU2CQI3 whereas, for Moto Z2, the update comes with version NDSS26.118-23-6.

It is advisable to connect to a good Wi-Fi network before installing the update and keep your phone’s battery as high as 50% while installing the update.

To check for the update manually, go to Settings – About and tap Software update.
