Great news for Verizon’s Moto Z Droid and Moto Z2 Play users in the US! On its website, Verizon has confirmed the roll out of OTA software updates for Moto Z Droid edition, Moto Z Force Droid edition, and Moto Z2 Play that fix known issues, optimize device performance and update the security patch to latest levels.

For the Moto Z Droid and Moto Z Force Droid handsets, the new update carries the software version OCL27.76-69-6-3. The update brings the security patch up to September 2018 which isn’t new considering rival OEMs are rolling out November security fix, but that’s Motorola for you. The update also enhances the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi calling features.

The software update for the Moto Z2 Play comes as software version ODSS27.76-12-42-1 and includes the security fixes up to October 2018.

If you were hoping for the release of Android Pie update, you will be disappointed to learn that the Moto Z handsets are not eligible for the update. While, we expect the Moto Z2 Play to score the Pie update before the end of Q1 2019.
