Verizon releases September patch for the Pixel and Pixel 2 handsets

Pixel security update

The September patch security update is now available for all the Pixel handsets at Verizon. The Pixel and Pixel 2 are still one of the best Verizon phones you can buy in 2018, even with Pixel 3 just around the corner.

The software version of the update carrying the September patch is PPR2.180905.006.A1 for the Pixel and Pixel XL, while that for Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL is PPR2.180905.005.

After the rollout of Android 9 Pie update for these devices last month, today’s update represents the second OTA based on Android 9. So even though the changelog doesn’t mention a lot, we hope that the update tackles down any issues you may be experiencing on the Android Pie OS.
