Verizon releases new security updates for S7, S7 Edge, S8, S8 Plus, Note 8, LG G6, G8, Zone 4, Moto G6 Play and DuraForce PRO 2

One of the largest telecommunication companies in the United States, Verizon, has started rolling out security updates for Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, S8, S8 Plus, Note 8, LG G6, G8, Zone 4, Motorola Moto G6 Play, and KYOCERA DuraForce PRO 2.

Older Samsung devices, such as the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, see their Android security patch get updated to June 1, 2019, and carry software versions R16NW.G930VVRUACSF2 and R16NW.G935VVRUACSF2, respectively.

Their successors, the Galaxy S8, S8 Plus, and Note 8 get their security patch bumped up to July 1, 2019, carrying software versions, PPR1.180610.011.G950USQU5DSG7, PPR1.180610.011.G955USQU5DSG7, and PPR1.180610.011.N950USQS6DSG4, respectively.

Three LG devices, the LG G6, G8 ThinQ, and ZONE 4, see their security patches get renewed to May 1, 2019, June 1, 2019, and July 1, 2019, in that order. Their software versions have been labeled as VS98820j, G820UM10e, and X210VPP13b, respectively.

Both the Motorola Moto G6 Play and KYOCERA DuraForce PRO 2 have also gotten their security patch updated to June 1, 2019. The Moto G6’s security update carries software version PDP29.118-38, while DuraForce PRO 2’s comes with software version 3.605VZ.

Apart from updating the security patch, Verizon says the updates also fix known issues and optimize device performance.
