Verizon LG V20 OTA update rolling out with January security patch and bug fixes, build VS99512A

Verizon has released a new software update for the LG V20 and it is currently being rolled out to users. The update installs the latest Android security patch and also fixes various bugs and issues. The software version is VS99512A and it comes more than two months after the last one.

Some changes that affect the VPN on Android for Work app has been made in this update. For example, customers using the Android for Work app will not see the VPN setting if their company doesn’t allow VPN access. And that’s about all the changes.

This is a minor update and is based on Android Nougat, as the V20 came with Nougat out of the box. However, the Android 7.1.1 update for LG V20 is not available yet. It is recommended that you install this update, as it comes with January security patches for Android.

As always, make sure your device is sufficiently charged and connected to WiFi or a strong Verizon cellular network.
