Verizon Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+ and Note 5 OTA update rolling out with May security patch

Verizon has begun pushing out the latest security patch to a few major Galaxy devices. The updates arrive in the nick of time and is seeding over the air. These updates are identified as software versions G920VVRS4DQE1, G925VVRS4DQE1, G928VVRS3CQE1 and N920VVRS3CQE1 for the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5, respectively.

To get this update, make sure that your current software version is based on the DQ1 firmware (software version ends in DQ1). These updates essentially install the May security patch and make sure that your device stays protected from malware, programs with malicious intent and other known threats on the internet.

If you haven’t already received the update notification, try checking manually by going to Settings » About » Software update. Take a back up of all your important data like photos, videos, contacts, documents etc. before downloading the update. This is in case something goes wrong during the update process.
