A new software update has also been released for the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge + today. The update installs the February Android security patch on the smartphone.

The software build version is G928VVRS3BQB1 and it is currently available as an OTA download. If you own a Galaxy S6 Edge + on the Verizon network, you should be getting the update or may have already got it.

Verizon had released a similar security software update for the LG G Pad 7.0 LTE tablet earlier today. The Galaxy S6 Edge + will soon be getting the Android Nougat update as it has already been certified by all the major U.S. carriers. But for now, you will have to make do with this minor update.

We will let you know when the Nougat update is available for this device. Before that, it is recommended to install this security update. Make sure your device is sufficiently charged and connected to a stable Wi-Fi or Verizon LTE network.
