Update: AT&T is also rolling out a similar update to the Note 9 with the same software version and changelog as the update that Verizon released to its Note 9 variant a while ago.

Samsung Galaxy S10 might be the newest kid on the block, but it still won’t disrupt the software update rhythm Verizon has already established with the Galaxy Note 9.

Normally, it should be the Galaxy S10 receiving the latest security patches ahead of other Samsung devices, but instead, it’s the Galaxy Note 9. The device is receiving April 2019 security patches for those using the Big Red, arriving as version N960USQS1CSD1.

Verizon started dishing out the update yesterday, meaning it’s pretty early for everyone to have received the OTA download notification. Airborne updates usually take time, so don’t be surprised if yours arrives towards the end of the week.

The firmware is based on Android Pie, with the device having received the update a month ago. And although not mentioned, you can always expect plenty of bug fixes and performance improvements as part of the update.

Also on the receiving end of a software update with the latest April 2019 security patch will be the Motorola Moto G7. The release notes are live, but the OTA is yet to begin rolling out. If anything, download prompts should begin arriving this week.

Alternatively, you can try forcing your device to check for the availability of the update by heading to Settings > System > Advanced > System updates and if available, tap on Download and install.
