Verizon Galaxy Note 8 receives new update with KRACK fix and November 2017 security patch

Verizon is rolling out a new software update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 right now. The update brings the latest November Android security patch to the device.

Those who own the Verizon Galaxy Note 8, will receive this update over-the-air. It carries the build number N950USQS2BQK2. You will also receive the patch for the KRACK Wi-Fi vulnerability, with this update.

A previous update for the Note 8 included some improvements to the Live Focus camera feature. It also included other bug fixes and once again, the KRACK fix. Looks like this new update only carries the November security patch then. Samsung also rolled out a similar update in the US, for the unlocked variant.

Apart from that, no other changes are available in this update. However, we recommend that you install it as soon as you get the notification. You can also manually check for the update by heading to Settings > About phone > Software updates.

The Galaxy Note 8 is yet to receive the Android 8.0 Oreo update, and Samsung has promised to provide it in Q1 2018. As of now, only the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ have received the Oreo update in beta.
