Verizon Galaxy Note 2 now shipping, reaches customers as early as Thursday

Just like with the Galaxy S3, Verizon took its own sweet time in releasing the Galaxy Note 2 and is now shipping it to customers, at least to those who pre-ordered it from the carrier. Confirmation emails say that customers will be able to get theirs either on Thursday or Friday, though we can expect a delay or two here and there.

Also, it seems that the much dreaded Verizon logo still exists on the home button on the Galaxy Note 2, so it is pretty safe to assume that all this time was also taken to lock the device’s bootloader even though every Samsung device otherwise comes with it unlocked, which will no doubt make it difficult for the development community to put custom ROMs on it.

Here’s what you get with the Verizon Galaxy Note 2:

  • 1.6GHz Exynos quad-core processor
  • 2GB RAM
  • 5.5″ Super AMOLED HD (1280 x 720) display
  • 8 megapixel rear camera, 1080 video recording
  • 1.9 megapixel front-facing camera
  • 16GB storage, microSD card slot
  • Wi-Fi, HSPA, 4G LTE, NFC
  • 3100 mAh battery
  • S Pen Stylus
  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

The HTC Droid DNA is the only other device that comes near the size and specs of the Galaxy Note 2 on Verizon, so those who are still deciding which device to get, be sure to check out our comparison between the two devices, which should help you decide much quicker.

Have any of you who ordered the Galaxy Note 2 from Verizon received a confirmation email yet?
