The Verizon Droid Turbo 2 is receiving a new software update today with Wi-Fi calling support, and the latest Android security patch. If you own a Motorola Droid Turbo 2 on Verizon, then do check for the new update if you haven’t got any notification yet.
The new software update build number is 24.31.22, and it is currently available as an OTA. As mentioned earlier, this update adds support for Wi-Fi calling. Verizon users can now make voice calls over Wi-Fi if a cellular network isn’t available. If the user is outside the United States, they can still make free Wi-Fi calls to US numbers.
With Wi-Fi calling, you will still be able to use your own number to make or receive calls. To enable this feature, head over to Settings > Advanced Calling >Activate Advanced Calling. Apart from this, the update also installs the February Android security patch and fixes bugs.
Before you install the new update, make sure your device has more than 50 percent charge and is connected to a stable Wi-Fi or Verizon cellular network. This is still based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, whereas unlocked variant of the Droid Turbo 2 has already received the Nougat update.
