The unlocked variant of the HTC U11 is currently receiving a new software update. The new software version is 1.28.617.30 and it is a minor update.
As per the changelog, the update will install the October Android security patch on your device. This should take care of all the vulnerabilities and bugs. The update should improve overall performance of the device. It also includes several other bug fixes and under the hood enhancements.

HTC is delivering the update over the air, so it could up to few days for everyone to receive it. If you haven’t got the notification yet, you can head over to Settings > About > Software and check for the update manually.

In case you cannot wait and want to install the update manually, you can download the firmware file from the link below. However, this is the full file and weighs around 2GB, so it is better to wait for the OTA as that will be much smaller in size. Remember, this update is for the unlocked HTC U11 variant only!
