Telus confirms Moto Z Nougat release date for Canada as December 19

Telus has just confirmed that the Moto Z on their network is getting the Android Nougat update on December 19. Users of the smartphone in Canada will be glad to know that they can finally enjoy the official Nougat goodness.

If you look at the screenshot above, the targeted release date for the Telus Moto Z Nougat update is December 19, and we are quite sure that it’s gonna be Android 7.0, not 7.1.1, as we’re yet to see is enter soak test. The Moto Z Droid, Droid Force, Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus have already received the Nougat update from Motorola, and that was version 7.0.

Therefore, it looks like the Moto Z on Telus and other Canadian carriers will also receive the Android 7.0 update. For what it’s worth, Rogers has also revealed that their own Moto Z Nougat update is coming soon, too. By the end of this year, almost all Moto Z variants should have the Nougat update. The global variant of the Moto Z will most likely also see an Nougat update by the end of December, as per the latest leak.

Motorola is doing a very good job at providing the latest Android 7.0 Nougat update to its customers. The update brings several new features such as better notifications, improved battery life, multi-screen mode and much more.
