Telus launches low-end phone Samsung Galaxy Discover in Canada, priced $99

Telus Samsung Galaxy Discover

Telus, the Canadian telecom company today launched a new phone viz. Samsung Galaxy Discover. It is the Canadian version of Galaxy Rush which was released by Boost Mobile in the US.

This phone is aimed for budget buyers with a price tag of $99.99 only without any contract.

The Samsung Galaxy Discover runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box, other specs can be found below:

  • 3.5 Inch HVGA Display
  • Wi-Fi, HSPA
  • GPS
  • 3MP Rear Camera with Flash
  • 800 MHz single core processor
  • 4GB with MicroSD support

There are anyways very few low end phones in the market which run on ICS. Also the customer base for such low end phones also seem to be diminishing with customers being more demanding with features and speed of their phones. However for a price of $99.99 this can be considered quite a deal as although the phone seems to be low end it still manages to have some nice-to-haves feature in a phone like Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, Camera (with flash) and GPS.
