Take a gander at Galaxy F foldable phone in these concept images

Samsung Galaxy Fold

For long we’ve been expecting the foldable phone to arrive in the market, some may say too long. However, Samsung had confirmed last week that Samsung’s foldable phone, which we’ve been calling Galaxy F since time immemorial, would be launched before July next year. This move may have been prompted by news reports that LG may unveil its own foldable phone at CES 2019.

After it was revealed that the phone will sport a 7.3-inch Infinity Flex display, 3D renders based on the phone’s patented design have surfaced on the internet, thanks to LetsGoDigital. The phone will reportedly, and understandably, sport a smaller 4.6-inch screen when folded with a resolution of 480×1960. In full view, the resolution is expected to be 1536×2152.

It’s worth knowing that Samsung is yet to finalize on the hinge design as it has filed several patents but haven’t yet revealed which one they’ll go with. It is expected that they’ll unveil the phone to the world in MWC 2019 with a price tag of around $1800. Samsung is also reportedly planning to make a million units of this phone and is already developing carrier-specific firmware for US carriers
