Are AT&T, Sprint and Verizon Moto X2 to get Marshmallow update after all?

Motorola earlier confirmed the set of its devices from the past two years which are in line for the Marshmallow update from the company. Sadly enough, Moto didn’t care enough to include in that list, which can be taken as a preliminary Marshmallow update list too, even though Motorola didn’t say so.

But it was still mind boggling to see that one of the better company when it comes to Android updates, the Motorola, has left devices like this year’s Moto E, and last year’s flagship at carriers like Verizon, AT&T and Sprint in dark over Android 6.0 update.

Well, it could turn out that the those carrier Moto X 2nd Gen devices are actually in line for an update, but may not be in first round of 6.0 updates, which was all that list was about.

Why?

Well, because of good user over at Reddit digging the Wi-Fi.org’s database, to find that those devices Motorola promised would get the Android 6.0 update soon carry the same certification date that is applied for the Verizon Moto X 2nd Gen too, one that Motorola didn’t include in its Marshmallow update list.

So, if devices carrying the certification date, about Android 6.0 importantly, are to get the update, than whether or not they are included in the list, the plan is there for sure.

We’re seeing that Verizon Moto X2 is carrying a certification dates 30th Sept 2015, and it’s about Android 6.0 update only, and the same certification with same date is available for the Pure edition Moto X2 too, the one that Motorola confirmed will get Marshmallow update.

Profit, right?

Let us know what you guys think.
