A bunch of Samsung devices is receiving new updates from Verizon Wireless that install new Android security patches, but not necessarily the latest version available from Google.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 users are receiving an update with the latest Android security patch for the month of October 2018 and so is the Galaxy Tab S3. The duo’s updates come as software versions N960USQU1ARJ5 and T827VVRS2BRJ1, respectively, and are available over the air.

The 2016 LG G5 is also receiving a new update with software version VS98730b and unlike any of the above handsets, this one is receiving an update with August 2018 security patch. Of course, the update should also be accompanied by plenty of bug fixes and performance improvements.
