Verizon releases March security update for Galaxy Core Prime, build G360VVRU3CQC1

Taking care of a device over two years old, Verizon is seeding out a new firmware update to Galaxy Core Prime. The update installs the March security patch and gives your budget Galaxy Core Prime smartphone some sort of stability.

Arriving as build number G360VVRU3CQC1, the current software update gives your Galaxy device the monthly security patch. It also fixes the regular bugs and optimizes device performance which is very much needed on a smartphone which is entering the end of its Android software cycle.

The firmware update to Galaxy Core Prime is being pushed over the air, as such it may take a while to appear on your device. However, if you do not want to wait, you can check for it right away manually by going to Settings > About device > System updates.

However, ensure two things before hitting the download button. First, your Galaxy Core Prime needs to be at leas 50 percent charged and second it needs to be connected to a WiFi network. These steps will ensure that the firmware update is installed without any hiccups.

The Galaxy Core Prime was released in 2015 with Android KitKat. The OS has been bumped up to Android Lollipop. As usually a device gets two Android software updates in its life-cycle, Nougat can be easily ruled out for this budget smartphone.
