The Android 4.4 KitKat Update is available for the T-Mobile Galaxy Note 3, as N900TUVUCNB4. You can easily update your T-Mobile Galaxy Note 3 yourself using Odin and by following the instructions provided at our update page below. But, because an update removes the root access, here’s how to get it back. It’s simple, we use the Chainfire’s CF Auto Root tool, that would root your T-Mobile Galaxy Note 3 on KitKat Update easily, in just one click. Let’s see how to do this. Warranty may be void of your device if you follow the procedures given on this page. You only are responsible for your device. We won’t be liable if any damage occurs to your device and/or its components. Before you begin with guide instructions below, make sure your android device is adequately charged — at least 50% battery of the device. To make sure your device is eligible with this, you must first confirm its model no. in ‘About device’ option under Settings. Another way to confirm model no. is by looking for it on the packaging box of your device. It must be SM-N900T! Do not use the procedures discussed here on any other Galaxy Note 3 (including the Galaxy Note 3 variant at Sprint, US-Cellular, AT&T, Verizon and other International variants) or any other device of Samsung or any other company. You have been warned! Back up important data and stuff before you start playing around here as there are chances you might lose your apps and app-data (app settings, game progress, etc.), and in rare case, files on the internal memory, too. For help on Backup and Restore, check out our exclusive page on that linked right below. ► ANDROID BACK UP AND RESTORE GUIDE: APPS AND TIPS You must have proper and working driver installed on your windows computer to be able to successfully flash stock firmware on your T-Mobile Galaxy Note 3. In case you’re not sure, follow the link below for a definitive guide for installing driver for your Galaxy Note 3 on your computer. ► SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 3 DRIVERS INSTALLATION GUIDE Download the CF Auto Root file given below and transfer it to a separate folder on your computer (just to keep things tidy, that is). DOWNLOAD LINK | File name: CF-Auto-Root-hlte-hltexx-smn9005.zip (20.16 MB) Example video: If you haven’t used Odin before to install a stock firmware or anything else, then we suggest you first watch a video of that to get familiar with the process. The video demonstrates flashing of CWM Recovery on Galaxy S3, but since the procedure is same for flashing stock firmware also, the video will help: Click here to watch the video Important Note: Backup important files stored on internal SD card of your device, so that in case a situation arises requiring you to do a factory reset after flashing stock firmware, which might delete internal sd card too, your files will remain safe on PC. If you see FAIL message instead of the PASS in Odin’s top left box, that’s a problem. Try this now: disconnect your T-Mobile Galaxy Note 3 from PC, close Odin, remove phone’s battery and put it back inside in 3-4 seconds, open Odin and then repeat from Step 3 of this guide again. Also, If device is Stuck at setup connection or on any other process, then too, try this: disconnect your T-Mobile Galaxy Note 3 from PC, close Odin, remove phone’s battery and put it back inside in 3-4 seconds, open Odin and then repeat from Step 3 of this guide again. NOTE: It may happen that your phone doesn’t automatically boot into recovery and root your phone. In that case follow the following above procedure except that in Step 7, Auto Reboot option is un-checked and then the instructions below: It was easy to root your T-Mobile Galaxy Note 3 with CF Auto Root Tool, right? Let us know how you plan to use root privileges on your T-Mobile Galaxy Note 3. Your suggestions and queries, if any, are most welcomed!ROOT PACKAGE INFO

Will this fix the SD card issue? It’s become so bad on mine that even the Samsung file manager can’t modify files 🙁

This root did not work. Got to PASS, but on restart it hung up on “set warranty bit: recovery”. had to pull battery to restart. Root unsuccessful, any ideas?

I strongly suggest that nobody use these instructions. It doesn’t work. The linked Odin has been modified.
Works, but doesn’t seem to install SU. You may need to install it separately from the market.

This method does not work. I am on a SM-N900T with Baseband N900TUVUCNB4 and Android Version 4.4.2 (KitKat). When using Odin 3-v.3.0.7 I try flashing CF Auto Root SMN9005 (tried SMN900T as well, same result) and when I press “Start” in Odin it does not show “Pass” but rather it shows “RESET”. After I unplug the phone from the USB cable and wait 2 minutes then Odin shows “PASS”. On my phone I see a red Android icon and some text scrolling up and then the phone reboots again. Then, when I reboot into recovery and when the phone opens in recovery mode I do not have any options to flash a rom. What good is this rooting method if you can’t flash a rom with it? I should have never upgraded to Kit Kat.
