Nokia 7 Plus gets another Android Pie beta update with new system navigation, Sep 2018 patch, and more

A month ago, HMD Global released what some thought was the stable version of Android 9 Pie update for the Nokia 7 Plus, but it turned out it was just another beta.

A couple of weeks later, reports emerged that the stable version of the OS will begin rolling out in September, but from the look of things, it seems HMD isn’t ready to release the stable version of Android 9 Pie to the Nokia 7 Plus.

This is after multiple users of the device started receiving an update that is still based on Android 9 Pie beta, but it has a new Android security patch for the month of September 2018 and build number v3.190. The changelog also says the update brings new system navigation, settings menu and notifications, adaptive battery power prioritization for most commonly used apps, adaptive and optimized brightness levels, and predictive application actions. There are some reports that the update also adds aptX audio codec to the Nokia 7 Plus, so be sure to let us know if this is true for you in the comments section below.

Essentially, this is Pie beta 4.1, which is not what owners of the Nokia 7 Plus are looking forward to. How this latest rollout affects the promised September 2018 release date remains unknown, but it’s likely to imply that the stable version may have to wait until next month. We’ll have to wait and see what happens.
