Ahead of Google’s keynote at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2019 event that begins today, details of what appears to be the search giant’s plans to enter the game streaming market have emerged.
It’s not the first time we are hearing about this, but it’s the first time we seem pretty sure about what’s happening. It had been rumored before that Google was planning to enter the gaming market with some sort of gaming console and things are now becoming clearer.
We recently saw patent images of what seems like a Google gamepad and according to Variety, the company does indeed have plans to launch new gaming tech at the GDC 2019 event.
The keynote to unveil this tech will be on the second day of the event and apparently, a logo (featured image) of the said tech is already on display at the venue, but details of the exact hardware are still unknown.
A related report by Kotaku further sheds some more light on the upcoming game streaming service. Apparently, it will be playable on any hardware, be it a PC, phone, TV, and whatnot. The report further says gamers will be able to play games on Chromecast or even PCs using an Xbox controller, but of course, we know the company already has plans to launch its own controller.
The GDC 2019 event kicks off today, but Google will hold its keynote tomorrow, which is when we get to know everything about this game streaming service.
