Specifications of high-end Samsung tablet codenamed “ROMA” leaked

Samsung’s most high-end and fastest Android tablet ever was the Nexus 10, but being a Nexus device, it doesn’t exactly do much for Samsung nor is it easily available in most parts of the world. But according to TechBlog.grSamsung is working a new tablet codenamed “ROMA”, which matches the Nexus 10 spec by spec but runs on its proprietary TouchWiz skin.

Expected to be announced some time in the next few weeks, the device will apparently be exactly similar to the Nexus 10 in most specs, including the 10.1-inch 2560 x 1600 pixels display found on the latter. Other differentiating factors will be a microSD slot (up to 128GB cards supported!), 3G and LTE connectivity, and the TouchWiz Nature UX 2.0 upon Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

The rest of the specs would include a dual-core Exynos 5 processor, 2GB RAM, 5-megapixel rear and 1.9-megapixel front camera, 16GB built-in storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and DLNA connectivity, a 9,000 mAh battery – all of it packed in a body measuring 257 × 177.7 × 8.4 mm at 583g, which is again almost similar to the dimensions of the Nexus 10.

If the “ROMA” does exist, then we can safely assume it will be a roaring hit for Samsung, mainly thanks to the awesome high-resolution display that no other tablet other than the hard to obtain Nexus 10 has been graced with. Release dates or pricing aren’t known yet, so we’ll have to wait for Samsung’s official announcement for those juicy details.
