Google has announced the launch of new limited edition smartphone cases in partnership with Grammy winning producer Skrillex. It has been claimed that this is the first of its type of limited edition cases for smartphones.
The new lineup is called Enter Editions and it is meant only for select Samsung Android and Nexus smartphones. These limited edition Skrillex Live Cases are for the Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy S6 and they can be purchased via the dedicated Google Store till the end of June or till the supplies last. However, the pricing of these cases is not known yet.
These limited edition Live Cases are compatible with devices based on Android 4.4 KitKat or above and sync with the Live Case application. These Live Cases are built using Lexan (EXL-1414) polycarbonate material and arrive in Space Shield, Lil Planet and Circuit Bae.
The highlight is that these Enter limited edition cases display live wallpapers shot by Skrillex’s satellite in the stratosphere. Google’s Store notes that the live wallpapers will display images of constellations at night and images of earth during the day.
Google further announced that the Live Case owners will receive early access to free Owsla album from the Play Store and Skrillex updates will be sent to their smartphones. An inbuilt shortcut button will be on the Live Case providing one-touch access to the Skrillex music feed on YouTube. This button can be customized to open the camera or any other app.
