Samsung to release Galaxy S4 Mini LTE GT-I9197 in India?

Samsung is reported to be testing a LTE model of the Galaxy S4 Mini in India. The only service provider which supports LTE connectivity in the Country, is Airtel. And it is only available in a few cities.

Indian import record tracking site Zauba, reports that Samsung shipped 500 units of the GT-I9197 for testing purposes. So the company could be testing the TD-LTE networks here, which are currently only supported by the iPhone 5c and 5s. There is a possibility that Samsung could be using these devices to test the LTE networks for launching  LTE devices in the future.

The codename of the device is similar to that of the Galaxy S4 Mini GT- I9192. So we can assume that the GT-I9197 is the LTE version of the S4 Mini. The import price of the phone has been listed as Rs 17,760, which is slightly higher than the current price of the S4 Mini, which retails at Rs. 16, 800 approx.

So, assuming that the LTE version of the phone has similar specifications to the S4 Mini, we could be looking at a final price tag of around Rs. 20,000.
