Samsung Galaxy J7 Max and Galaxy J7 Pro launched in India with Samsung Pay and new Social Camera feature

India’s favorite smartphone series, Samsung J series, now has two new smartphone models under its banner. Launched at an event in New Delhi, the new devices go by the moniker Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro and Samsung Galaxy J7 Max.

While Galaxy J7 Pro features 5.5-inch FHD sAMOLED display, Galaxy J7 Max features 5.7-inch FHD TFT display. Interestingly, both the devices come with India specific features such as Ultra Data Saving, S bike mode and S Power Planning which are part of “Make for India” J series.

While both the devices come under mid segment range, they now feature Samsung Pay, which until now has been part of premium devices only. However, only J7 Pro users can utilize the full power of Samsung Pay as it comes with NFC. Meaning, they can use the smartphone at regular swiping machines for ’tap and pay’ offline payments. Sadly, J7 Max only supports Samsung Pay Mini, which allows users to make payments via mobile wallets and UPI only and not through regular swiping machines.

Besides Samsung Pay, the new devices also feature Samsung’s latest innovation “Social camera” that allows users to instantly edit and share photos from within the camera itself without the need for any third party app. The social camera, besides editing and sharing photos comes with an instant discovery feature, which as per Samsung allows users to discover their surroundings for popular photography spots, restaurants and shopping areas. Further, unexpectedly, the Galaxy J7 Pro comes with only 3GB RAM while J7 Max features 4 GB RAM. However, Galaxy J7 Pro features 64GB memory while J7 Max has 32GB internal memory.

In the camera segment, both the devices feature 13 MP front camera and 13MP rear camera. Although both the devices run on Android Nougat, 3,600mAh battery powers Galaxy J7 Pro while 3,300mAh battery powers Galaxy J7 Max.
