Verizon rolls out March security patch update for Samsung Galaxy Note 9, J7 V, J7, J3 V, and J3

There’s just a couple of days left for the next month to begin and fortunately, Verizon has now rolled out the update containing the March security patch for the Galaxy Note 9, Galaxy J7 V (2nd Gen), Galaxy J7 (2nd Gen), Galaxy J3 V (2nd Gen), and the Galaxy J3 (2nd Gen).

Well, we know some of you may be hoping for the Android 9 Pie One UI update from Samsung for your Galaxy J7 which was spotted on Wi-Fi Alliance a few days ago, but sadly it’s not that. At least yet.

The latest update is available via an OTA update hence users should begin receiving the update notification of the aforementioned devices.

Based on the update changelog, we do not see any major changes or bug fixes so you wouldn’t be finding any new features added to either device after installing the new update.

The new software update carries the following software version:

  • Galaxy Note 9: N960USQU1CSC1
  • Galaxy J7 V: J737VVRU2ASC1
  • Galaxy J7: J737VPPVRU2ASC1
  • Galaxy J3 V: J337VVRU2ASC1
  • Galaxy J3: J337VPPVRU2ASC1

If you have either of the devices yet haven’t received the update notification on your device, then we’d suggest checking for the update manually.

To do this, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Wait for the device to check for any available update and if an update is available, tap on Download and then tap on Install once the update has been downloaded.

It’s possible that you might have to wait a day or two for the update to be available on your device hence don’t fret if you aren’t receiving the update just yet.

  1. Not seeing it yet – tried the manual update, too. My Note 9 is OEM unlocked with VZW as my carrier.
