Samsung Galaxy S10 5G unveiled with 6.7-inch display, 4500mAh battery, and it’s coming to Verizon

At the Unpacked 2019 event in Barcelona, Spain, Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy S10 5G variant. Besides packing better internet speeds, the S10 5G edition also bumps up the screen size and battery capacity among other things and for a start, it will be limited to Verizon Wireless in the U.S.

Under the hood, the Galaxy S10 5G packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor that is mated to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of non-expandable storage, which is strange coming from Samsung.

The phone packs a 6.7-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED display screen with a wider cutout similar to the S10 Plus, but the battery is bigger at 4500mAh. Its possibly because of the relatively new 5G modems that may require more battery power to milk the best out of them that this model has the biggest unit in any Samsung phone yet.

Of course, fast wireless charging is available and so is fast wired charging, with the support of up to 25W Super Fast Charging available via a USB-C port. Similar to the other S10 models, resting another device on the back of the S10 5G will wirelessly charge it using its power.

If you thought the many cameras on the Galaxy S10 were anything to brag about, you’ll be surprised that the 5G variant takes photography a notch higher. The device adds one more 3D depth-sensing lens on either side for AR functions, Video Live Focus, and works as a Quick Measure tool.Samsung Galaxy S10 5G

Verizon Wireless will be the first in the U.S. to sell the Galaxy S10 5G, but it shouldn’t be for a long period. Even so, you must be in a city that supports this technology, something that the Big Red has yet to reveal.

Other carriers like AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint are also expected to carry this device at some point in the year.
