Did Instagram Remove Multiple Photos? Where to Find It?

Instagram’s updates have been crucial in removing bugs and optimizing the apps for easy sharing of photos. But many, inadvertently, introduce a few as well. It appears that a recent update has impacted users’ ability to share multiple photos in a post. Here’s everything you need to know about it and how can you still add multiple photos to create a carousel.

Did Instagram Remove Multiple Photos?

Up until a recent update, users could add multiple photos to a post via the “Select Multiple” option. But users are now finding, much to their dismay, that this option is gone now. Fortunately, however, the feature hasn’t been removed. Here is all you need to select multiple photos on Instagram.

Where Is Multiple Button on Instagram?

Well, it’s not available anymore — at least as a direct UI element. But you can still select multiple pictures quite easily. As shown below, the multiple button is now missing on Instagram.

Many Android users have been affected as well since they only get the icon for the ‘Select Multiple’ option.

Nevertheless, the ability to pick multiple photos is not affected by the bug in any way for either platform.

How to add multiple pictures when you do not see the ‘multiple button’

Whether you are an Android or an iPhone user, if you can’t find the ‘Select multiple’ button, simply tap and hold down on any photo.

Now you will see a small circle at the edge of the photos. This means you can select multiple pictures for your Instagram post again. So go ahead and tap on the pictures that you want for your carousel post.

Will the ‘multiple’ button become available soon?

Folks at Instagram have announced that they’re working on a fix for the bug. So until it goes away, this slight adjustment should work just fine. Be on the lookout for new app updates to install as these can weed out the bug in future iterations of Instagram.

  1. Oh my gosh, thank you!! I’m glad they didn’t remove the feature completely. That would be a weird move. Hopefully, it is just a big with a quick-fix. It should definitely be part of the UI, not a secret menu item.
