BBK Electronics owned Oppo today announced two new flagship smartphones in Oppo Reno and Oppo Reno 10x Zoom at an event held in Beijing, China.
Oppo Reno is more likely to target the mid-rangers in the market as it starts at just $450 with 6GB of RAM/128GB of Storage. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 710 processor and features a 6.4-inch FHD AMOLED display.
The Oppo Reno handset also packs a 3765 mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 fast charging and comes with an in-display screen fingerprint scanner.
Oppo Reno has a single 16MP selfie popup camera at the front, while it main sensor at the rear comprises of a 48MP sensor with an aperture of F/1.7 along with secondary 5MP depth sensor.
On the other hand, Oppo Reno 10x Zoom goes all in to target the premium range of Android phones as it houses Qualcomm’s current flagship chipset in Snapdragon 855 and starts at $600 with 6GB RAM/128GB storage.
The device comes with a 6.6-inch FHD AMOLED display and packs a 4065 mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 fast charging. Reno 10x also comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Oppo Reno 10x Zoom is equipped with 13MP F/3.0 Periscope telephoto camera with a 10x hybrid zoom at the back along with the same primary 48MP cam with F/1.7 aperture, and a third sensor in 8MP sensor with F/2.2 aperture, capable of capture images at 120-degree wide angle. The selfie camera on the Reno 10X Zoom is a 16MP sensor with an aperture of F/2.0 that pops out when duty calls.
But the main hype the Reno phones from Oppo is their motorized camera shelf, also dubbed as Shark fin design, a different take compared last year’s Oppo Find X.
Release date
Both phones are Notchless and have a screen to body ratio of 93.1%. Reno will be on sale in China starting April 19, and Reno 10x arriving this May. Its global launch will take place at Zurich on April 24th.
