It goes without saying that you’ll have to install TWRP recovery on your Nexus 4 in order to install/flash the LineageOS 15.0 custom ROM on your smartphone.

Now, the Nexus 4 doesn’t feature a strong set of specifications — obviously, it’s nearly 5 years old. So, we can’t guarantee that you’ll get a smooth experience with Oreo. But, LineageOS 14.1 was working fine on the Nexus 4, so the LineageOS 15.0 should do just fine despite a few minor setbacks.

All said, it actually feels good to see a phone that was launched nearly five years ago receiving the latest OS (although unofficially).

Speaking of the latest OS, you’ll get to see a good number of new features on your handset once you install the Oreo-based LineageOS 15.0. Some of them include, faster boot times, enhanced WebView, Autofill for apps, Adaptive app icons, picture-in-picture (PiP) mode, improved Settings menu and doze mode, improved notifications, and more.
