Xiaomi Mi Band 1S with heart rate monitoring ability gets certified in Taiwan

The Chinese firm Xiaomi seems to be working on the successor of the Mi Band wearable device. The alleged sequel has been photographed by the NCC (National Communication Commission) in Taiwan and it has popped up on the agency’s website as well.

The Mi Band successor is getting its certifications in the county and this is an indication that the wearable will be unveiled soon.

Similar to its predecessor, this new model too does not feature a display of any kind. Whenever there is a necessity, you can use the display of the smartphone that is paired to the Mi Band 1S.

The Mi Band 1S seems to resemble the original Mi Band, but there are differences in both the interior and exterior. The upcoming variant will feature a new functionality that will let users to monitor their heartbeat. The existing model tracks the workouts and sleep patterns of the users.

The small part housing the sensors and electronics can be removed letting the users swap the bands. There are small connectors as well on the side of the detachable terminal that can be used to charge the device.

It is known that the Xiaomi Mi Band 1S will carry the model number MI XMSH02HM, but the price and availability of the device seem to be unknown. The original Mi Band priced equivalent to $12 managed to sell over 6 million units making Xiaomi the second largest wearable device maker in the whole world in the first quarter of this year.

Eventually, the firm managed to gain a market share of 24.6 percent in the werable market segment. We can expect the Mi Band 1S to help the firm witness further success.
