Yahoo! on Android: Mail App, Messenger App and Search Widget

Yahoo Mail for Android

Are you still using the Yahoo! services like Yahoo! Mail and Yahoo! Messenger? Well, we can’t figure out why and where of those of you using it — given the fact that Gmail and Google Chat are there — but looks like Yahoo! is finally getting serious with android and is showing its love or say, business with the launch of two android apps, each dedicated to Yahoo! Mail and Yahoo! Messenger. The Company also launched a Yahoo! search widget for android — but will you really replace it with or use it besides Google’s own default super-widget — to try its luck on the Android screen.

By The Way, like official Twitter app, these apps would run only on devices running Android 2.0 or higher. Find out a full statement here.

Also announced were HTML 5 websites, each for Yahoo! News and Yahoo! Mail for mobile devices or tablets. Now that’s a good indication that finally, Yahoo! is taking the mobile devices seriously. Oh, don’t expect another mobile OS here, being Google is something no search engine can afford.
