Indian manufacturer Lava has already had the pleasure of being the manufacturer of the first ever Intel-powered phone with the Xolo X900, and now the company might be on its way to become the first local manufacturer to launch a smartphone powered by a quad-core Tegra 3 processor.
Called the Xolo Play T1000, the device’s benchmarks were found on the NenaMark website, giving away most of its specs – a 720p display (said to be 4.7″, with software navigation buttons), 1.5GHz Tegra 3 chipset, and Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. AndroidNova, the ones who came across the phone mention that it will also sport an 8-megapixel rear camera with 1080p video recording, 2-megapixel front camera, 1GB of RAM, and a 2,000 mAh battery.
As for the price, the Play T1000 is expected to cost Rs. 15,999, which would pitch it directly against the Micromax Canvas HD while providing more horsepower than the latter, and also giving users access to exclusive Tegra-only games. This price tag may not be final, but judging by how aggressive Indian manufacturers have been regarding pricing, I wouldn’t put it past Lava to live up to this rumor.
