Larry Page interviewed, talks about Apple, Motorola Nexus, and the future

Google CEO and co-founder Larry Page was recently interviewed by Fortune, where he talked about some very important points, including answering a few questions about Apple, chances of a Motorola-made Nexus device, and also the company’s future, and the rather long interview has now been posted online for all to read.

The first question that some people might want the answer to is whether Motorola is making a Motorola device any time soon. Well, according to Page, that’s not something they’re looking to right now, as they “haven’t owned Motorola long enough” and that there are other complexities in deciding the next Nexus manufacturer. It also depends on getting out a device to people in the “most cost-effective, highest quality way possible”, and we all know that Motorola isn’t in a position to make low-cost high-end devices right now.

As for his thoughts on Apple, Page believes they are a competitor but a partner as well, as Google continues holds talks with them on getting their services out to users of Apple’s products. He also answers “sometimes” when asked if “he was friendly with Steve Jobs”, and that he doesn’t believe in making his company look at what a competitor is doing right now, as that holds them back from thinking about the future.

In the end, Page mentions that he stays most occupied with making Google wildly successful, and focusing on imagining where Google will be in five years time, what they’re doing, and how the company is organised, closing with the statement that he’s trying to “get a technology company that continues to scale its impact and aspirations in its everyday”, also saying that he does idea on how to make Google even more bigger than they are now.
