Verizon DROID Incredible 4G LTE Update brings Global Roaming to the device

The first ever software update, carrying the build number 2.17.605.2, for the HTC DROID Incredible 4G LTE has been approved by Verizon. According to the changelog, the update will add global roaming to the device, enabling it to be used on mobile networks in 220 countries, and also add support for Isis Mobile Wallet for mobile payments.

The 154MB update will also add Verizon’s Remote Diagnostics Tool, which allows a customer care personnel to gain remote access to the device for troubleshooting and app demonstrations, after getting the customers’s permission. Other changes include improved 4G LTE and Wi-Fi connectivity, and support for audio in video/voice calling app Tango.

Updates usually start rolling out a few days after getting approved by Verizon, so expect the update to arrive by next week. Manually checking if the update is available can be done from the System updates menu in the About phone menu in the phone’s settings.
