Verizon Galaxy S10, S8 and Note 10 receive October security updates

Galaxy S8

One of the leading telecom companies in the United States, Verizon, is rolling out software updates to the Galaxy S10, S8, and Note 10. While the S8 and Note 10 are getting only the October 2019 security patch as part of the update, the S10 is also receiving a bunch of camera enhancements alongside the security bump.

For the Galaxy S10, S10 Plus, and S10e, the software update — BSIO — carries software version G973USQU2BSIO, G975USQU2BSIO, and G970USQU2BSIO, respectively. Apart from the October security update, the devices are also getting extended Night mode (front camera and all three rear lenses), added effects in Live focus, Live focus video mode, extended Supersteady mode, Dynamic lock screen, DeX for PC, Link to Windows, and Hyperlapse in front camera. Unsurprisingly, all of these features are available on the Note 10 duo. So, this update is only about leveling the playing field.

Sadly, Note 10/Note 10 Plus and S8/S8 Plus aren’t as lucky as the S-series flagship and are only getting the regular security update. The update has gone live, so, you should get the update notification sooner than later. If you don’t, make sure to check for the update manually by going into Software update and tapping on Download and install.
