T-Mobile Galaxy S4 Stagefright Fix rolling out, build M919UVUFOH3

T-Mobile Galaxy S4 is now finally receiving the much awaited fix for Stagefright vulnerability which put millions of Android devices out there at risk of being hacked.

In case you don’t know, Stagefright vulnerability that let’s a hacker gain access to your phone’s data, even camera and microphone, by simply sending you a MMS message that you may not even notice.

This is a huge security flaw and you should be worried about it. Thankfully, T-Mobile is rolling out a patch for the Galaxy S4 M919.

The OTA update is rolling out with a new firmware build, M919UVUFOH3, and is only around 15MB in size.

If you haven’t received the OTA update notification yet on your T-Mobile Galaxy S4, you may check for the update manually from Settings > About phone > Software updates section.

  1. Ran the Lookout security’s Stagefright checker AFTER applying the T-Mobile update and apparently still vulnerable. So, did the T-Mobile update not fix anything or is Lookout’s checker not working ?

  3. Yeah, I got the same results as Bob. I tried three different Stagefright checking apps, and all three say I’m still vulnerable. Is it possible the apps only check version number and the patch didn’t update that, instead only fixing some code?

    I’m going to trust it fixed it, but….
